Our popular lecture series just got a little sweeter!
Every other month the Kent Historical Museum hosts GKHS Presents, featuring a guest speaker, possibly a professional author or historian or maybe a local history enthusiast, plus a delicious gourmet dessert to enjoy at every event. The speakers are lively and engaging, making history exciting—this is not your high school history class!
Speakers have discussed a wide range of history topics, from the stories of Kent’s early pioneer families, to the area’s extensive aviation history. There have also been historical preservation topics, including restoring old houses and dating historical photographs.
The program began in November of 2009 with the purpose of engaging the public in an ongoing discussion and celebration of history, both on a local and global scale.
Events in the series are usually the third Thursday of every other month (though scheduling is subject to change) at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for GKHS members, $13 for nonmembers and free for students (the ticket includes the cost of dessert).
Since space is limited, reservations are required. Call the museum office at (253) 854-4330 or email us at ctyofknt@msn.com for more information on the next event and to reserve your spot!
