GKHS Annual Fundraiser Auction Preparations Have Begun!
Many people have asked the question, "what's new for this year's auction?". First of all, we are adding appetizers, served during the first hour after the doors open, to the overall dinner menu for the evening. The evening's theme is "Night of a Thousand Stars - A Diamonds and Denim Dinner Auction".
This year's auction will have a simple but elegant setting while providing the subtle atmosphere of a 5 star restaurant. This will embrace the typical Pacific Northwest blend of attire from semi-formal to "dressy-casual" for the evening.

The Live Dessert Auction has been very successful for fund raising purposes and for adding a lively round of fun to the start of the Live Auction. The premium desserts offered at the beginning of the Live Auction set the tempo for the remaining of the evening: bid high, have fun and have another bite of sheer heaven! Our 2009 Live Dessert Auction theme is "Elegant and Decadent Desserts"! This year, we are excited to welcome Auctioneers Dick and Sharon Friel.
For those of you who are interested in donating items to the auction and/or in helping the Auction-Procurement Team in acquiring donations, the Donation Forms and the Procurement Cover Letter will be available at the Museum Office in June.
We plan on having a Live Auction and a Silent Auction, and possibly a Raffle. All donations, with a description of the donated items and donation value, must be accompanied with a Donation Form. All donors will be listed in the Program.
All donations are requested to be mailed to or dropped off at the Museum during open hours the week of September 1, 2009. Items with limited shelf life such as fresh flowers/plants will require special arrangements the day before or day of the auction.
If you need a GKHS volunteer to pick-up a donation for the auction, please call the Museum at 253-854-4330 to make arrangements.
This annual auction is our major fundraiser of the year, needed to support Museum operations and GKHS organized activities, so your donations and attendance are important!
