Current members are strongly encouraged to get involved with the Historical Society and the Museum–there’s something for everyone’s interest!

Here are a few ways you can participate:
Board Meetings
All members, as well as the public, are invited to attend the monthly GKHS Board meetings, the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. Important information about the Museum and the Society is discussed at meetings.
Volunteering
The Kent Historical Museum is currently in need of high-quality and enthusiastic volunteers of all ages and interests. Opportunities for volunteers include: Giving Museum tours Committee work Collection work Newsletter layout and mailing Event and program assistance Special projects Plus much more–if you have a specific idea of something you’d like to volunteer for, let us know!
Programs
The Museum invites members to attend our Adult Education Series, posted on our events page.
Newsletter
All members are invited to contribute to our quarterly newsletter, the Recorder. Call or email the office with your idea.
Events
The Museum makes a great venue for your private or company event, including birthday parties, teas, weddings and receptions, even company holiday parties, and members get a great discount on the deposit. Contact the Museum office for more information.
If you would like to organize and/or host a GKHS-sponsored, non-program event or fundraiser, please contact the Museum office. This form helps the Museum staff efficiently facilitate and accommodate your event. (Examples of past events that fell into this category were the Memorial Day ceremony and the Ed Crawford Speaker event.)
